Well, when we arrived here in early January the house was supposed to be ready (built) but it wasn’t. In fact I was dismayed at how much work remained. So I sat down with the contractor and his people and asked them to prepare a new progress plan. This is a requirement in our contract and is meant to regulate the time the contarctor needs to complete the construction.

Our man on the ground, Chandan, has taken the responsibility of completing the remaining work in our absence. Chandan has worked for us for 8 years and moved south with his family to help me with the project. He’ll be living in the house in a separate flat once it’s completed.
