Villa Malpe is a proper house now – not a construction site any longer. The garden is fenced in, the trees and grass have been planted, the paths have been paved and the house is complete – or pretty close to complete. A few more details remain, but should be done in a few weeks (early January 2018). It’s been a challenging year since the project was thoroughly delayed and the contractor was doing such a poor job that I chose to dismiss him in March. But I have been able to get the unfinished work – windows, floors, walls, stairs, electricity, bathrooms and more – completed through the efforts of Chandan. He has diligently followed our plans and managed to get skilled labourers to do what was envisaged. So hats off to Chandan!
We stayed in the house in October – May-Kristin stayed on until the end of November – and are satisfied with the state of building. The furniture is in place, the kitchen is equipped, the air conditioners are installed and the art is on the walls. Obviously, there are quite a few bits and bobs missing, but we’ll get them on our next visit. Friends from Norway, Germany Mumbai and Delhi visited us during our stay. So we’re getting a feel of the place.
And it’s really fantastic. The architect has done a brilliant job with the design, the rooms are spacious, the view is breath taking and the location is perfect.
The only hair in the soup is the contractor, who is demanding more money…….
Fantastisk! Så flott det har blitt. Gratulerer.
Veldig fint. Så bra at dere nå ser enden på strevet og har fått en så fin plass. Kos dere og gratulerer.
